Never paste an API key or token into an AI conversation or support email.

Is Munkey free?

Munkey is free. You bring an API key from a supported AI provider. Provider usage, quotas and billing are separate.

Do I need accounts with all six providers?

No. Configure any one supported provider.

Why does the keyboard need Full Access?

iOS requires Full Access for a third-party keyboard to contact your selected AI provider. Normal local typing remains separate; Fix and Trans require network access.

When is my text sent?

Text is sent to the selected provider only when you explicitly use Fix or Trans.

Where is my API key stored?

Keys are stored locally in iOS Keychain and are not displayed after saving. Uninstalling the app may not remove Keychain entries. To remove saved credentials, open each provider’s settings in Munkey and select Delete saved key before uninstalling. You can also revoke the key with the provider.

What if I see “Allow Full Access”?

Open iOS keyboard settings and enable Allow Full Access for Munkey, then return to the keyboard and try again.

What if I see “AI setup required”?

Open Munkey, choose a provider, enter its required credentials, and run the connection test.

What does Fix do?

Fix corrects spelling and wording in the left-side language. It can also convert romanized input into native script.

What does Trans do?

Trans translates the visible card text between the two languages in your selected pair.

What do the keyboard buttons do?
  • Languages: Tap to switch language pairs. Press and hold to choose a pair. Fix uses the language on the left.
  • Fix: Correct spelling and wording in the language on the left. It can also turn romanized input into its native script.
  • Trans / Orig: Translate between the selected languages. Tap Orig to return to the original text.
  • Copy: Copy the candidate currently displayed on the card.
  • Paste: Paste clipboard text into the card.
  • Save: Save the displayed result to History. Press and hold to turn Auto Save on or off.
  • Clear: Clear the text and all candidates.
  • Size: Change the keyboard height between S, M and L.
What does the summary at the top of Home show?
  • AI: The currently selected AI provider.
  • Size: The selected keyboard size.
  • Languages: Your registered language pairs. The language on the left is used by Fix. Trans detects which language is shown on the card and translates it into the other language in the pair.
  • ⭐️: Your favorite pair. This pair opens first when the keyboard starts.
Translation worked without using Fix first

This is expected. If the AI can understand the sentence from its phonetic spelling alone, it may translate it directly into the other language. If it is not recognized correctly, use Fix first.
